Whitney James Johnson

Lafayette – Funeral services for Whitney James Johnson, 44, will be held Friday October 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, with Father Michael Rousso officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday October 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, and will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services in David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette. Burial will follow in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.

Whitney was native and resident of Youngsville, he was loved by everyone he met, he loved spending time with his family and friends Whitney passed away Sunday October 15, 2023 at a local hospital.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather Shirley Johnson and Allen Touchet; brother Willis Troy Johnson; sister Crystal Lynn Johnson, nieces and nephews Deacon Cristopher Quebedeaux, Karen Elizabeth Decou, Katherine Elizabeth Decou, Josephine Ann Decou, and Bryson Martin Decou.

Whitney was preceded in death by his father Gary Lynn Johnson; maternal grandparents Willis and Felicia Vice Gary; paternal grandparents Whitney and Dorita Leblanc.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Joey Landry, Allen Touchet, Willis Johnson, Steve Gary, Steve Gary Jr., and Billy Decou; honorary pallbearers will be Deacon Quebedeaux and Jonathan Forgason.

Whitney’s family would like to thank all of family and friends, especially Steve Gary for all the help give to Whitney in the last five months.
