Wayne J. Poirrier

New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for Wayne J. Poirrier, age 69, on Monday, March 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Durk Viator. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed before the service at 11:00 a.m.

Wayne J. Poirrier, aged 69, departed from this world on Thursday, March 15, 2024, at Iberia Manor North Nursing Home. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Wayne dedicated over 15 years of service to the City of New Iberia, contributing his efforts to the sanitation department. However, beyond his professional commitments, Wayne found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace in hunting and a special joy in fishing, often spending cherished hours amidst nature's embrace.

Wayne's legacy extends beyond his professional and leisure pursuits. He will be fondly remembered as a man of exceptional kindness and generosity. Known for his warm heart and willingness to help others, Wayne exemplified compassion in all his interactions. His family, including his loving parents and siblings, cherish memories of him as not only a remarkable son and brother but also a dear friend. Wayne's spirit of selflessness and his unwavering devotion to those around him will continue to inspire and resonate in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have left this world, his legacy of kindness and compassion will endure as a testament to the goodness he embodied.

Wayne is survived by his parents, Avie and Cecile Touchet Poirrier; one brother, Carol James Poirrier; three sisters, Gloria Hulin, Betty Poirrier, Sheila Poirrier; niece, Pamala Grace (Greg); nephew, Colt Grace, and one great niece, Lexi Grace.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Carol Poirrier, Avie Poirrier, Greg Grace, Colt Grace, Johnny Poirrier, and Joseph Maturin.

The family would like to thank staff of Iberia Manor North for their kindness and support.
