Wallace Shelvin, Jr.

Abbeville - Wallace Shelvin, Jr., 73, departed this life Friday, July 15, 2022 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born November 4, 1948 to Wallace Shelvin, Sr. and Doris Bernard Shelvin in Abbeville, LA. He was employed by Great Lakes Carbon and later Walmart in Abbeville, LA.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tawaina L. Shelvin; his parents, Wallace Sr. and Doris Shelvin; three sisters, Barbara Shelvin, Dorothy Link and Bertha S. Levine.

Left to cherish his memory, one daughter, Trana Cole (Davy Sr.); his former wife and friend, Mary H. Levine; one granddaughter, LaKeria S. Hope; four grandsons, Jalen Alexander, Jacory Alexander, Nehemiah Williams and Davy Cole Jr., all of Port Arthur, TX; two sisters, JoAnn Bessard and Audrey Robinson, both of Abbeville, LA; one brother, Larry Shelvin of Dallas, TX; three special nieces, Doris Newton, Vera Shelvin, and Linda Vallot; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, July 23, 2022 at David Funeral Home, 2600 Charity St., Abbeville, LA. Burial will follow in Pleasant Green Cemetery in Abbeville, LA.
