Jeanerette – Memorial Services for Victor Edwin “Vic” Gibson, Sr. will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Centerville Presbyterian Church with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 11:00AM. Inurnment will follow at Centerville Presbyterian Church Cemetery followed by a reception at Cooper Street Coffee Shop in Jeanerette. Victor Edwin “Vic” Gibson, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2025, in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Vic spent a long, successful career as an engineer and executive in the offshore oil and gas industry. He was deeply involved in the design and construction of large, offshore, semi-submersible drilling rigs. He was also a senior member of the team that designed and launched large barges and boats that were also deployed into the energy industry. Over the years, Vic and Faye traveled extensively and were very happy to call Houston, Texas, Rockport, Texas, and Jeanerette, Louisiana “home”. Vic’s other hobbies included boating, reading, visiting with good friends at the local coffee shop and watering hole, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Carol Faye Gibson; two daughters, Heidi Gibson LeBleu and her husband Andre and Dixie Gibson Meynier and her husband Fred Stow; a son, Vic Gibson, Jr.; six grandchildren, Ethan LeBleu, Maura LeBleu, Morgan Meynier, Sophie Gibson, Vic Gibson, III, and William Gibson; a brother, John Gibson; two sisters, Valerie Gibson Leggett and Debra Gibson Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Woodrow Gibson, and his mother Winifred Hanagriff Gibson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dino Fitch, Ethan LeBleu, Vic Gibson, III, William Gibson, Will Terry, Larry Leggett, Lee Roane, and Charlie Hanagriff.
