Ursule Giebelstein

May 26, 1919 — February 23, 2019

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Youngsville, Louisiana honoring the life of Ursule Langlinais Gieblestein, 99. She was born on May 26, 1919, and passed away in Houston, Texas on February 23, 2019. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery in Youngsville, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Tim Wall, Ian Wall, Sean Wall, Patrick Langlinais, Darrel Comb and Jerry Terpening. Honorary Pallbearer is Clay Terpening. Ursule lived a long and full life to nearly the age of 100. She grew up in Youngsville Louisiana and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1936. In 1941 she and 3 girlfriends trained as welders with the promise of jobs at the Houston Ship Yard building naval ships. She moved to Houston and was truly a “Rosie the Riveter.” At her tallest, she was only 5’ tall but was full of spunk, as most Cajun ladies are. She settled in Pasadena where she and her husband Harry raised their daughter Margo. Ursule was active in her parish, St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Community in Deer Park, for many years. She was one of the founding members of their Altar Society and was in the Catholic Daughters of America. When Margo was at A&M, she was active in the Pasadena Chapter of Aggie Moms. After Harry passed, she worked at Joanne Fabrics, Dillard’s and JC Penney’s until she was 95, all in Pasadena, to stay active and busy and made many friends. The lights of her life were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Her warm smile, loving heart and twinkling blue eyes will be greatly missed. Ursule is preceded in death by her parents Gilles Langlinais and Anna LeBlanc Langlinais, the love of her life, her husband Harry Giebelstein, her brothers Francis Langlinais and Dalton Langlinais, her sisters Irma Langlinais, Agnes Langlinais and Olga Toups. She is survived by her daughter Margo Wall and her husband Tim Wall of Houston, Texas, her grandchildren Anna Wall, Ian Wall and Sean Wall, of Houston, Texas, her sister-in-law Catherine Walter of Hewitt, Texas, and several nieces and nephews, including her god-daughter Kathryn Terpening of Abbeville, Louisiana. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Youngsville, Louisiana on Thursday, February 28th. Visiting hours be observed at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, TX., on Tuesday, February 26th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm; at David Funeral Home, 316 Youngsville Hwy, Lafayette, LA on Wednesday February 27th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm; and Thursday, February 28th from 9:00 am until 10:30 am when the procession will depart for St. Anne’s in Youngsville. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the Fairbanks Court Assisted Living family where she lived, and the Hospice Plus staff who assisted Ursule in her final days.
