Terry Wayne Boutte

Erath - Terry Wayne Boutte, age 76, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. He was a native of New Iberia and a resident of Erath.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia Cloud Boutte; two daughters: Kimberly Boutte Menard and her husband Stacy of Knoxville, TN, and Terri Lynn Boutte Carrier of Lafayette; two heart daughters: Donna Renee Carraway of Lafayette, and Monica Moresi and her husband Damas of Erath; seven grandchildren: Matthew Menard (McKenna), Paul Menard, Elizabeth Menard, Braden Carrier, Nicholas Carrier, Cullen Carrier, and Patrick Moresi; one brother, Kenneth Boutte (Carolyn) of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews as well as many caring and loyal friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents W.J. and Irene Boutte.

Terry truly lived life to the fullest until his last day.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, playing cards, cooking, baking, dancing, and eating anything chocolate. He loved to spend time with his family and friends on his back porch or the boat, and dearly loved all his card playing buddies. One of his greatest pleasures was sitting on his back porch with his pal, Duke (black lab) while enjoying God's creation of nature. Terry was a strong and feisty warrior who was determined to not let cancer get him down, and he gave it his all until the end. Terry’s laughter, joking spirit and love for others will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.

Terry’s family would like to thank everyone who has sent their prayers, condolences and support through this journey. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by his family to Leslie Reulet-Carrere for her compassion, dedication and excellent care given to Terry and his family during their time of need as well as to Dr. Brierre with his nurses and staff, and the staff and caregivers at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, especially the ER staff.
