Terrell Michael Watts

Terrell Michael Watts, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend gained his wings on Wednesday, January 6, 2022 after a prolonged battle with heart disease.  Michael is survived by his bride of 29 years Theresa Carr Watts and son Cade Michael Watts; sister Joanne Watts Maceluch and husband Bob; sister Frances Watts Bosca; and brother John Thomas Watts III, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Hooge Watts and John T. Watts, Jr., brother Richard Gregory Watts and brother-in-law Honorato  Bosca.

Michael was born on July 6, 1953 in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from St. Stanislaus in 1971. Being a jack of all trades, Michael worked in the catering business in Mobile, had a thriving  tree service in Atlanta.  He was a mechanic in Lafayette until he found his career in the oilfield as an ROV Superintendent with Oceaneering from which he retired in May 2020 with 26 years of service.

Michael lived life to the fullest and was truly one of a kind.   He loved motorcycles, cooking, barbequing,  entertaining and playing cards with friends and family. He enjoyed tinkering with all his gadgets; there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix.  He was an avid reader.  He enjoyed spending time at his beloved Fowl River with all of his 33 first cousins and their families. He especially enjoyed hanging out with his fur baby Lilly.     Michael was larger than life and had the biggest, kindest heart. He will be truly missed by all.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church  in Broussard with a  funeral mass to follow at 11.  A celebration of his life will follow.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
