Lafayette ~ Funeral Services for Mrs. Teresa Polk Duplechin, 71, will be held at 1:00PM, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating.

Visitation will be at 9:00AM, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette and will continue until the time of service.

Mrs. Teresa Polk Duplechin was a beloved wife, mother, and friend known for her warmth, wit, and many passions. An amazing cook, Teresa took great joy in preparing delicious meals for her family, always ensuring everyone felt cared for around the table. She was also an avid reader, finding joy in losing herself in a good book. With a degree in accounting, Teresa applied her skills in the oilfield industry, but her heart was also drawn to the simple pleasures in life, including fishing with her husband and listening to country music. Her love of music even led her to enjoy attending live shows of her favorite artists. A proud member of the Air Force, Teresa was stationed at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, where she carried on the adventurous spirit she inherited from her father, whose nickname was "Lucky" due to his love of the casino. Teresa herself shared this fondness for gaming. She had a deep love for travel, often venturing out to visit her son, Charles, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. Teresa's rich life was defined by a deep love for her family, her passions, and the many experiences she treasured.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Duplechin, two sons, Charles Duplechin and his wife Melanie of Lafayette, and Brian Duplechin and his partner Gary of Lafayette; and four brothers, Larry Polk of Columbia, Billy Polk and his wife Debbie of Colorado, Kenneth Polk of Patterson, and Ernest Polk.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmus Dempsey Polk and Gladys Marveline Friesbee Polk; and two brothers, Donald Polk and Eddie Polk.
