Ted Allen Derise, Sr.

March 1, 1957 — July 9, 2019

Jeanerette – A Mass of Christian Burial for Ted Allen Derise, Sr., age 62, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Jeanerette with Fr. Mark Derise as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 1:45 PM. A lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Ted has worked in the Oil and Gas Industry since he graduated from high school. He was a Crane Operator and his favorite sports passion was the New Orleans Saints. He enjoyed cooking, camping, crabbing, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Marilyn Leonard Derise of Jeanerette; children, Catina Breaux and husband Ray of New Iberia, Ted Allen Derise, II and wife Erica of New Iberia and Clara Miller and husband Ben of Alabama; siblings, Tommy Hebert and wife Liz of Jeanerette, Kim Derise of Jeanerette, Brenda Frederick of Florida, Annette Meader and companion Donnie Pepper of Youngsville, Terry Derise and wife Annette and Fr. Mark Derise of Scott; six grandchildren, Chelsie Espana, Caleb Segura, Rhylee Derise, Sage Breaux, Alora Breaux, and Tray Breaux; four great-grandchildren, Ava Espana, Kohen Espana, Logan Espana and Layla Espana; his special four-legged friend, Sweetie. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Derise, Sr. and Mary Louise Hebert; brother-in-law, Wayne Frederick; brother, George Derise, Jr. Pallbearers will be Ray Breaux, Ben Miller, Caleb Segura, Ted Derise II, Dwayne Derise and Kojak Segura. Honorary pallbearers will be Miguel Espana, Timmy Zimmerman, Randy Segura, Sr., Randy Segura, Jr., Dwight Segura, Tommy Hebert, Kim Derise, Jimmy Leonard and Terry Derise.
