Loreauville – Funeral Services for Sophie Ann Bonin Reese, 62, will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Loreauville with Deacon Russel Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM until the time of services on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home with a recitation of the rosary at 10:00AM.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sophie, a beloved and cherished individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Sophie was a kind and loving person who made every moment brighter with her presence.

Family meant everything to Sophie. She was a devoted and loving member of her family, with a special place in her heart for her great niece and nephews. Sophie’s love for children was evident in everything she did, and she took great joy in being a positive influence in their lives.

An artist at heart, Sophie found great joy in the world of arts and crafts, creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. She enjoyed vacationing and taking the time to relax, but it was her time spent helping others that brought her the most fulfillment. She was a kind soul who had a deep affection for her clients she worked with at the ARC. Whether in her home, in her community, or in the lives of friends, Sophie’s selflessness was always apparent.

Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she could be found preparing delicious gumbos, etouffees, and cakes for family and friends. Sophie’s cake decorating skills were unmatched, and the cakes she made were as beautiful as they were delicious. Sophie loved bowling, good music and dancing. It kept her spirit lively and vibrant, and she was always the first to get up and dance, sharing her infectious energy with all. Sophie had a love for life that was evident in everything she did, and she brought joy to those around her.

Sophie’s love for her pets, especially her beloved toy poodle Cindel and her late poodle Coco, was a testament to the kindness and care she extended to all those she loved. Her pets were her family, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.

Sophie was a beacon of light and will be remembered for her radiant smile, her boundless love, and her unwavering generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and joy that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Eric Reese; two sons, Cody Theriot and Chase Bonin; her mother, Dolores Pelous Bonin; a niece, Jackie Bonin; two brothers, Jared Bonin and his wife Michelle, and Jason Bonin and his wife Lorraine; two great-nephews, Louis and Kaius; and a great niece, Audrey.

She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Joseph Bonin; and her loving toy poodle, Coco.

Serving as pallbearers will be Duplantis Gerard, Jason Bonin, Jared Bonin, Michael Seneca, Kim Pelous, and Cody Theriot.
