Simeona Uy Laurente

New Iberia– Funeral services were conducted for Simeona Uy Laurente, age 92, on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at David Funeral Home with Fr. Bill Melancon. Inurnment will follow later time.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2:30 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.

A native of Cebu City, Philippines, and resident of New Iberia, Simeona Uy Laurente passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her residence in New Iberia.

Mother, friend, grandmother, and angel, Simeona Uy Laurente was the center of the family. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.

Simeona Uy Laurente is survived by her children, Dr. Sarah Laurente-Ong (Dr. Edison Ong) of New Iberia, son, Paul Laurente (Anelyn Galinoto-Laurente) of San Antonio, TX.; sister, Evangeline Bly of California; grandchildren, Kathleen Laurente-Blanco (Adam) of San Antonio, TX., Holland Bly of California, Mutya Gregorio of the Philippines; great-grandchild, Kai Liam Blanco of San Antonio, TX., and niece, Victorian Laurente-Malacaman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Petronilo Laurente; parents, Shamn Uyn, and Filomena Beceril Uy.
