Shemarr "Shep" Louis Sheppard

New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for SheMarr "Shep" Louis Sheppard, 20, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 11:00AM at St. James United Methodist Church, 549 E. St. Peter St. with Reverend Valla Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be held at St. James United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 9:00AM until the time of the service.

SheMarr Sheppard, a cherished member of the New Iberia Senior High Class of 2021, passed away, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Born with a bright smile on May 22, 2003, SheMarr brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.

After graduating from New Iberia Senior High, SheMarr found purpose and fulfillment in his work at Walmart. He wasn't just an employee; he was a valued member of the Walmart family, where he poured his passion into his job, creating lasting friendships with his colleagues.

Beyond his dedication to work, SheMarr had a playful side. He found immense joy in the virtual world, indulging in his love for video games. Gaming wasn't just a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with friends and create unforgettable memories.

SheMarr's life was a testament to the importance of friendship and finding happiness in the little things. His warm spirit, love for his work family, and passion for gaming will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.

In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate SheMarr's life and the vibrant energy he brought into the world. May his laughter echo in our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment and every connection, just as he did.

He is survived by his parents, Stanley L. and Terressa G. Sheppard of New Iberia; 4 brothers, Sylas L. Sheppard of Las Vegas, NV, Stanley L. Sheppard, Anthony D. Sheppard, Jermaine L. Sheppard all of Oakland, CA; sister, Creesha L. Sheppard of Oakland, CA; maternal grandfather, Rogers Green Sr. of Houston, TX; godmother that he dearly loved, Tonya Green of Lafayette, LA; honorary grandmother, Ethel Norbert of New Iberia; best friend he looked upon as a brother, Noah Botts of New Iberia; love Aunt, Ona Sheppard of New Iberia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Sr. and Beulah Sheppard; maternal grandmother, Joyce Jones; paternal great grandparents, Paul and Bertha Sheppard, Mose Sr. and Doreatha Mouton; maternal great grandmother, Evelyn Walker.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Sylas L. Sheppard, Noah Botts, Jared A, Dedrick Etienne Jr., Beaux Broussard, Trey Olivier, “Fat Money”, and Raymond Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Sheppard, Rogers Green Sr., Rogers Green Jr., William Sheppard Jr., Leo Meyers, Christopher Mitchell, Kim Sheppard, Marc Mouton, and Freddie Lombarb.
