Sheila Lasseigne Prioux

Loreauville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Sheila Lasseigne Prioux, age 65, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville with Fr. Buddy Breaux as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Loreauville on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:30 PM with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Loreauville, Sheila enjoyed search word puzzles, reading and sending letters to all who knew her. She had photographic memory and wrote letters and notes about her family heritage from memory in order that they would be preserved. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Prioux of New Iberia; five sisters, Esther Lasseigne of St. Martinville, Lise Romero and husband Roy of St. Martinville, Michele LeBlanc and husband Benny of St. Martinville, Claire Parr of Baton Rouge and Yvonne Blanchard and husband Bryan of Parks; four brothers; Jacques Lasseigne, Jr. and wife Anne of Shreveport, Andy Lasseigne and wife Joan of St. Martinville, Clyde Lasseigne and wife Tammy of Baton Rouge and Alvin Lasseigne and wife Paula of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Gary Prioux; parents, Jacques “Ned” Lasseigne, Sr. and Genevieve Duplantis Lasseigne. Pallbearers will be Lacy Prioux, Lon Prioux, Alvin Lasseigne, Andy Lasseigne, Jacques Lasseigne, Beau Lasseigne and Ryan Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Lasseigne, Benny LeBlanc, Roy Romero and Bryan Blanchard. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all who took care of Sheila; Landmark and Capitol Oaks Nursing Facilities, Hospice of His Care, Celeste Bourque, Linda Cormier, Sister Lise and Brother Clyde.
