Sandra "Sandi" Naquin Landry

New Iberia – Funeral Services will be held for Mrs. Sandra “Sandi” Ann Naquin Landry, 72, on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00AM at the David Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being led by the Men’s Rosary Group at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00AM until time of service.

A native of Louisa and a resident of New Iberia, “Sandi”, as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 5, 2021 in New Iberia, LA with her loving husband and family by her side.

Sandra grew up in the Louisa and Patoutville areas of Louisiana and graduated from Jeanerette High School. As a young adult, and for the past 13 years, she lived in New Iberia, Louisiana. She was crowned the first Queen of the New Iberia Downtown Business Association Christmas Parade. She also lived in New Orleans; Speedway and Indianapolis, Indiana; Nashville, Tennessee; Lewisville, Texas; Goodyear and Glendale, Arizona.

Sandra had a kind and compassionate spirit and always had on a beautiful smile. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass frequently and was a lector and eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, Louisiana and a eucharistic minister at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale, Arizona. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Joseph in Loreauville. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for over 40 years in several Chapters across the United States. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxilary unit in Lydia for over 40 years.

She loved to travel with her husband and family. Her favorite destination for travel was Hawaii. She had a long, successful career as a travel agent which allowed her to travel the world. Later, she worked in the banking industry for over two decades, and then at Target Department Store.

She valued spending precious time with her family and sharing holiday meals together. She enjoyed watching and attending sporting events at the University of Louisiana Lafayette (formerly USL). Her favorite pass times were reading, birdwatching on her patio, and doting on her beloved cat, Blackie.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Jerry M. Landry of New Iberia; one brother Howard P. Naquin, II and his wife Sheree of New Orleans; two sisters, Monica N. Caulking and her husband Samuel; and Deanna N. Gaspard, all of New Iberia; nephews, Heath and Nicholas Naquin; nieces, Mandy G. Armentor(Godchild), Crissie C. Anderson, Natalie C. Naquin, and Mindy L. Gaspard; four great nieces; three aunts, Verna B. Eldridge, Lois N. Lester and her husband Les, and Eleanor F. Naquin; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wilda B. and Howard P. Naquin; and her maternal grandparents; Elda S. and Wilfred Borel; and paternal grandparents, Loria S. and Paul Naquin.

The Family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Carl Ditch and Dr. Georgios Constantinou, the staff of Iberia Medical Center, the Cancer Center of Acadiana, and Hospice of Acadiana for their care during her illness.

Utmost gratefulness to her loving nieces, Mandy G. Armentor, Mindy L. Gaspard, and Crissie C. Anderson for giving Sandra “special care” during her final days of life.
