Ryan Lee Bates

Lafayette-A Celebration of Life for Mr. Ryan Bates, 52, will be held at a later date.

A resident of Lafayette, Mr. Ryan passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. He loved playing Madden with his sons, fishing, going out on the water, and solving puzzles. He enjoyed making other people laugh. He especially loved spending time with his wife, three children, six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Jennifer Bates of Lafayette; his sons, Ethan Branom and his wife Stacey of Broussard, and Gerald Whinery and his wife Mariah of Ontario, Oregon; his grandchildren, Piper, Lily, Quinn, Emrys, Valor, and Serena; and his mother, Kathleen Hill of Ontario, Oregon; his brothers, Marcus Henderson of Colorado Springs, and Bryan Bates and his wife Jessica of Sulfur.

He is preceded in death by his father, Danny Pat Bates; and his grandparents, Lillian and Lee Hollman.
