Rudy James Begnaud

Lafayette – Funeral services for Rudy James Begnaud, 72, will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2 :00 PM at David Funeral Home with Pastor Weldon Moak of First Baptist Church of Broussard officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Rudy was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a Master Machinist and loved explaining the different projects he worked on through the years and some of the patents he was able to obtain along the way. Rudy spent his retirement years fishing, crabbing and caring for his fruit trees. He will be fondly remembered for all the canning produced and shared with family and friends.  Prior to his illness Rudy spent as much time as he could riding or talking about his Harley Davidson. Rudy passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Lafayette General Hospital.

Rudy is survived by his two sons, Toby and Tim Begnaud; three grandchildren Dylan, Carley and Mia Begnaud; his fiancée Alice Porter; brother Melvin Begnaud; sisters Betty Shell and Linda Landry. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Mathilda Meaux Begnaud; his wife Laura Begnaud; and his brothers Bradley and Andrus Begnaud.
