Royce "Gramms" Mary Broussard

Jeanerette– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Royce “Gramms” Mary Broussard, 78, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:00PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Keith Landry officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the service. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00AM.

Mrs. Royce Broussard, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother left this world on Wednesday, January 10, 2023. She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the many roles she played in the lives of those around her.

Royce found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her culinary talents were renowned, as she took great pleasure in cooking and sharing delicious meals with her loved ones. Her home was adorned with the beauty of nature, as she lovingly tended to her vegetable and rose garden, creating a haven of tranquility and vibrant colors.

An avid enthusiast of Elvis Presley, Royce's eyes would light up with excitement whenever she listened to his music. Board games were a cherished pastime for her, and she enjoyed engaging in friendly competition with her family members, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Known for her kind and selfless nature, Royce was always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her dedication to her faith was unwavering, and she found solace and joy in attending Mass regularly. As a proud member of the Catholic Daughters, she actively contributed to the community and embodied the values of compassion and service.

Family held a special place in Royce's heart. She loved them dearly and found fulfillment in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The joy of receiving cards and gifts from her family would often bring tears to her eyes, a testament to the depth of her love and appreciation for those close to her heart.

She will be remembered as a woman whose love, warmth, and generosity left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for us all.

She is survived by her children, Danna Broussard Tornblom and husband Paul of New Iberia, Robert G. Broussard Jr. and wife Barbara of St. Amant, Hope Patricia Broussard of Lafayette; grandchildren, Joshua Paul Lasseigne of New Iberia, Elizabeth Tornblom and fiancé Ryan Prejean of Lafayette, Peter Tornblom of Port Barre, Megan Burchak and husband Blake of Escondido, CA, Morgan Martinez and husband Jeremy of Prairieville, Sara Broussard and fiancé Shane Oaks of Prairieville; great grandchildren, Bennett Burchak, Mischa Burchak, Jay Robert Martinez, and Nash Oaks; and her sister, Patricia Reaux of Jeanerette.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert G. Broussard Sr; parents, Roy J. and Gersey Landry Petitfils; and her two sisters, Barbara Hidalgo and Connie Petitfils.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Danna Tornblom, Robert G. Broussard Jr., Paul Tornblom, Joshua Paul Lasseigne, Roy Joseph Petitfils and Greg Pete.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Martinez, Shane Oaks, Max Petitfils and Ryan Prejean.

The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice, especially her nurse Chelsea and the Chaplain, Sharon Russo for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank the staff of Gonzales Healthcare and Dr. Adam Whatley.
