Roy Allen Comeaux

Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Roy Allen Comeaux, 89, will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, June 11, 2021, at St. John’s Cathedral of Lafayette with Fr. William Schambough officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 8:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Comeaux died at 5:10PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his residence.  He served his country in the National Guard than went to become a successful entrepreneur have owned several local businesses.  Mr. Roy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and card player who enjoyed working his cattle which were his pride and joy.   He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by five sons, Brent James Comeaux and his wife Roxie, Jerome Roy Comeaux, Steward Paul Comeaux and his wife Diane, Jamie Arthur Comeaux, and Anthony Gerard Comeaux and his wife Beth; two daughters, Jacqueline Marie Bardin and her husband Mike and Shirley Ransonet; a brother, Paul R. Comeaux; a sister, Gloria Thevenot; seventeen grandchildren, and thirty- five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joycelyn Gary Comeaux; his parents, Joseph Roy Comeaux and Lola Plouet Comeaux; a son in law, Darryl J. Ransonet; a daughter in law, Lisa Stelly Comeaux; a brother, Lloyd Comeaux; and two sisters, Elsie Patin and Edith Hanchey.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of his family and friends.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
