Roland Molbert, beloved husband of Janell Vincent Molbert for 58 years, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Together, Roland and Janell built a life centered around family and love. They raised three cherished daughters who brought them immense joy. Roland was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, finding deep fulfillment in the presence and happiness of his extended family.

“Peru” as a young man he was a boat captain on a dreg boat and he also captained a crew boat. During his career at Breaux Brothers Baycraft, Roland worked as a helper for 17 years, contributing significantly to the company's operations. His commitment and hard work were evident throughout his 25-year tenure, culminating in a well-deserved retirement. Beyond work, Roland found solace and pleasure in simple joys like cruising around the neighborhood in his truck, accompanied by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. However, his true passion lay in horseracing; Roland was an avid enthusiast who not only enjoyed attending races but also nurtured and rode his own horses, finding serenity in their company. His legacy of love, dedication, and a life well-lived will be forever cherished by his family and all who knew him.

“Peru” is survived by his daughters, Rolain Berard and her husband Danny of Coteau Holmes, Tanya Blanchard and her husband Norman of Catahoula and Tracy Neuville and her husband Lynn, Jr. of Broussard; his grandchildren, Megan Hulin and her husband Brody of St. Martinville, Mindy Douet and her husband Blake of Coteau Holmes, Cole Blanchard and his wife Lynzie of Broussard, Chase Blanchard and his wife Morgan of St. Martinville, Bailey B. Albert and Kaleb of Loreauville, Ian Neuville of Lafayette and Ryley Shea Neuville and companion Bryce Richardson of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, Alix Hulin, Nate Hulin, Noah Hulin, Hunter Hulin, Ashtyn Douet, Jett Douet, Jack Blanchard, Sam Blanchard, Rae Richardson, Jax Blanchard, Jace Albert, Luca Albert; siblings, Phyllis Taylor, Nathan “Ricky” Molbert and wife Renee’ and Dale Molbert and wife Angie.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Janell Vincent Molbert; his parents, Overn and Laure Chataignier Molbert, and one grand-daughter, Jaime Lynn Berard.
