New Iberia– Funeral services will be held for Roger Dale Sisk, 77, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2:00PM at the David Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia, with Pastor Chad Romero and Pastor Ryan Derouen officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the service.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Maurice, Mr. Sisk passed away peacefully after a 4 year battle with liver cancer. He passed on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. Roger was a beloved horse jockey with a passion for horse racing. He cherished dining out with his family and friends, savoring each moment shared together. Whether at a bustling restaurant or a cozy family gathering, Roger's warmth and joy were ever-present, making every occasion memorable. A devout Christian, he found great solace and community in attending church, where his faith shone brightly through his actions and words.
Outside of his professional and spiritual pursuits, Roger had a green thumb and took great pleasure in tending to his vegetable garden, nurturing each plant with care and dedication. His garden was a testament to his love for nature and his ability to cultivate life. Roger's kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter touched the hearts of all who knew him, leaving a lasting legacy of love and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Sisk of Maurice; children, Lee Sisk and wife Londa Cassilli, Rebecca Sisk Bacas and husband Alan; step-children, Ray Lange and wife Chandra, Steven Lange and companion Rosanna Cocios, John Lange and wife Michelle, Richie Lange and wife Crystal; 8 grandchildren, Tyler, Bryce, and Aimeé Bacas, Alana Bacas LeBlanc, Ali, Chelsie, and Tony Sisk, Richaline Castille; 8 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 1 step great grandson; brother, Randy Boudreaux; and sister, Donna Gary.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Sisk; son, Bobby Sisk; parents, Randolph Boudreaux and Shirley Badeaux; and sisters, Madelyn Henry and Debbie Gary.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Lee Sisk, Alan Bacas, Tyler Bacas, Bryce Bacas, Matthew Castille and John Lange. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landyn and Jordyn LeRive, Hayden and Carter Castille, Drew LeBlanc.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brierre, Dr. Buller, Hospice of Acadiana staff especially Dona and Melissa; and the 5th floor nursing staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center especially nurses, Ashley, Stacy, Darla, Annette for all of their care and compassion.
