Abbeville- Funeral Services for Mr. Robert David, Sr., 83, will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00AM with Pastor David Rousse officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00AM until time of services.

Robert, the beloved former pastor of Touching Jesus Ministries, was a man of profound faith and boundless generosity. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to serving his community, always willing to offer his time, wisdom, and encouragement to those in need. His deep love for his family was evident in the way he cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing bonds that will endure forever in their hearts.

In the small town of Henry, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life, tending to his garden where he grew the largest vegetables, sharing fruits of his labor with others as a reflection of his giving spirit. He was a true man of God, devoted to preaching His word to all who would listen, finding great fulfillment in blessing others with his prayers and words of comfort.

To know Robert was to experience the warmth of his love and the strength of his faith. He will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his life. As we remember him, we find solace in the words of scripture: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). Robert has now passed on to his heavenly reward, where his soul rests in eternal peace.

He is survived by his son, Robert David, Jr. and his wife Jessica; his daughter, Shelley Baudoin and her husband Brian; his sisters, Eloise Haden and Dorothy Lacombe; his brother, Paul Lacombe; and his sister-in-law, Linda Hollier. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, his grandchildren, Ashley Davidson and Zachary Thibodeaux, along with Zachary’s wife, Britny, and his three adored great-grandchildren, Tanner Krawchuk, Mason Bodin, and Sean Thibodeaux.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Earline Domingue David; his sister, Betty Wiltz; his brother Maurice Hollier; and his parents, Lawrence David and Vivian Hollier.
