Robert "Bobby" Holtzclaw, known for his unwavering love for the outdoors and his knack for woodworking, passed away on April 1, 2024, at the age of 76, in his Loreauville residence. Born on March 1, 1948, to Robert S. and Anna Belle Prince Holtzclaw, Bobby's passion for nature was evident throughout his life. Whether meticulously tending to his yard on his Kubota tractor and zero turn lawn mower, casting nets for shrimp, or spending cherished moments with his beloved dogs, Checker, Denali, and Blue, Bobby found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature's beauty. His love for fishing for blue point crabs and fish was matched only by his dedication to “projecting,” where his creative mind could flourish, designing and constructing pieces that reflected his ingenuity and skill.

Beyond his affinity for the outdoors and craftsmanship, Bobby's warm and hospitable nature endeared him to all who knew him. Gathering family and friends for delicious meals prepared with love, he created enduring memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. His confidence, self-assurance, and genuine interest in others meant he never met a stranger, embodying the sentiment immortalized by Lynyrd Skynyrd, "A Simple Man." Bobby Holtzclaw leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and generosity that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Bobby is survived by his wife Nancy Schneider Holtzclaw; his children, Silas Holtzclaw of Fairhope, AL., Quinlynn Holtzclaw Johnson (Shane) of New Iberia, Emily Robin (Ben Groverman) of Paris, FR., Tim Robin (Rebecca) of Loreauville; his grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, Cortland, Chloe, Tyler, Ella, Charley, Aaron, Isaac, Rachel; two sisters, Pamela Gaspard (Joey), Sherry Hardy (Danny).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S., and Anna Belle Prince Holtzclaw; his former wife Kathleen Latiolais Holtzclaw, and his brother, Peter Holtzclaw.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Silas Holtzclaw, Quinlynn Holtzclaw Johnson, and Tim Robin.
