Rita Landry Boutte

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Rita Landry Boutte, 83, at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 28, 2022, in the David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with Father Alexander Albert officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 9:30 AM until the service time at2:00 PM. The Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11:00 AM.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Rita passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 10:25 AM upon arrival at Iberia Medical Center.

In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Rita was a retired Real Estate Agent and Property Manager. She loved animals especially her cats. The family request memorials to the Iberia Humane Society.

She is survived by her husband Richard J. Boutte of New Iberia; her sons, Robert Fontenot III and his wife Dixie of Gulfport, MS, Andre Fontenot and his wife Kay of New Iberia and Jason Fontenot of Jeanerette; her step-son, Craig Boutte and his wife Nicki of Broussard; her granddaughters, Lauren Fontenot Allain and her husband Victor of New Iberia and Mia Fontenot of Gulfport, MS and her grandsons, Andrew Fontenot of Houston, TX and Brandon Fontenot of Gulfport, MS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawless “Crim” Landry; her mother, Sarah Mannina Landry, her sister, Evelyn L. Fitch and her first husband Robert “Bob” Fontenot.

Pallbearers will be Robert Fontenot III, Andre Fontenot, Jason Fontenot, Andrew Fontenot, Brandon Fontenot and Craig Boutte.
