Rita Landry

Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Rita Landry, 90, will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 1:00PM with Fr. Dugas officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 8:00AM until time of services.

A native of Broussard, Mrs. Rita passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021. She was a life-long parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Broussard and attended St. Cecelia school.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially time spent with children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews at family gatherings.

She is survived by her sons, Randal P. Landry of Youngsville, and Derrell J. Landry and his wife Kathy of Ocala, Florida; her daughters, Sandra L. LeBouef and her husband Ronnie of Youngsville, and Mona Trahan and her husband Joey of Maurice; her 19 grandchildren; her 18 great grandchildren; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lenis G. Landry; her parents, Alcide C. Landry and Louise Guidry Landry; her daughters, Yvonne M. Hernandez and Rebecca A. Landry; her brothers Wallace Chaisson and Elmo Chaisson; her sisters, Theresa Boudreaux and Marianne Boudreaux; her grandson, Brock A. Hernandez; her great grandchildren, Elijah P. LeBouef, Gabriel A. Breaux, and Ella E. Breaux.

The Landry family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Maison de Lafayette, especially to Nurse Neil and CNA Rachel for their compassion and support.
