Rita Mae Herpin

A Mass of Christian burial for Rita Mae Herpin, 88, will be held Saturday January 30, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard with Father Michael Delcambre officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday January 30, 2021 from 9:00 AM until time of services; a rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM.

Rita was a native of Kaplan and a resident of Camelot of Broussard, she will be remembered as Sister Frances Cabrini belonging to the Sisters of Most Holy Sacrament, and then she became a schoolteacher with the Lafayette Parish School System until her retirement. Rita enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sister Annie H. Castille; her brother Father Lawrence Michael Herpin; nephews Earl Castille, Robert Castille, Dale Castille, Clint Castille, and Aubrey Marceaux; nieces Martha Prince, Rita Montet, Jennifer Bertrand, Annette Marceaux, and Suzanne Touchet. She is also survived by seven great nephews and six great nieces.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Seva and Albertine Dupont Herpin; her sister Martha Joan Herpin MHS; her brother Jerome Herpin; her nephew Ronald Castille, and her great nephew Nicholas Castille.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Ricky Montet, Cory Montet, Jermery Castille, Brandon Castille, Brent Castille, and Clint Castille.
