Abbeville- Funeral Services for Mr. Richard W. Launey, 64, will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 2PM with Pastor Mark E. Growran officiating.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday September 21, 2021 from 11AM until 3PM.

A resident of Breaux Bridge, it is with great sadness that the family of Richard Launey announce his passing on Friday, September 17, 2021. Richard was a loving husband, son, pepaw, brother, friend, and engineer. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Valerie Launey. His mother Audrey Roy of Lafayette. Two stepsons James and Chris Pike. Grandchildren, Brandon Pike and wife Morgan of Franklin, Dustin Pike and his wife Ashley of Patterson, DJ Melancon of Bayon Louise, and Dillon Melancon and his wife Becca of Franklin. Two sisters, Bobbie Launey of Morgan City, and Candy Brown of Lafayette. Three brothers, Mickey Launrey and His Wife Pam of Morgan City, Archie Launrey of Kansas, and Joney Launrey and his wife Celest of New Hampshire. Seven great grandchildren, Liam, Hailey, Kinsley, Maverick, Wyatt, Olivier, and Maddie. Richard was a devoted Christian.  Loved by so many people.  He touched so many lives for being caring, loving, honest, and hard working.
