Preston Joseph Adam Simon

Lafayette – A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Preston Joseph Adam Simon, 90, at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard with Father Louie Richard officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM. A recitation of the rosary will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 6:00PM.

A resident of Lafayette and a native of Abbeville, Preston was a shrimper for most of his life. He liked to build things and sit outside soaking up the sunshine. He was also a dog lover who bred English Bulldogs for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Olga Racca Simon; his daughters, Eva Green and her husband Patrick of Lafayette, Anna Marie Dillon of Broussard, and Suzette Haynes of Trinity, TX; his son, Keith Adam Simon and his wife Janie Garza Simon of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Rutherford and Theresa Harris; one brother, Erista Connor, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Christina Simon Quijada, Stacy Conrad, April Aden, Amy Lee, Preston Dillon, Mark Haynes and Aaron Haynes; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison Conrad, Ella Conrad, Bonnie Lee, Abbey Dillon, Pepper Haynes, Harper Haynes and Hunter Aden.

He is preceded in death by his parents Galvay Simon and Adelaide Connor.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Conrad, Steven Aden, Manny Quijada, Aaron Haynes, Preston Dillon,  and Keith Simon.
