A native of Erath, LA, and resident of Coteau, Presley Jean Romero passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 8:15AM at The Carpenter House of Lafayette.
Born on June 5, 1938, Presley lived a life filled with passion and joy. He had a special enthusiasm for golf, spending countless hours on the green perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of the sport. An avid cook, Presley's culinary skills were renowned, especially when it came to crafting the perfect gumbo. His kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and delicious aromas that drew family and friends together.
Presley was a devoted sports fan, with a particular love for the New Orleans Saints and LSU football. His spirit soared with every touchdown, and he reveled in the excitement of cheering for his favorite teams. The love for sports was just one of the many ways he connected with those around him.
A connoisseur of western movies, Presley found joy in the tales of the Old West, often immersing himself in the adventures of cowboys and the frontier. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures, spending quiet moments playing solitaire, finding solace in the subtle challenge of the cards.
Above all, Presley's greatest love was reserved for his family. His devotion to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable. He took pride in watching them grow, offering guidance, and sharing in their triumphs. Family gatherings were a source of great happiness for him, and his presence added a special warmth to every occasion.
Presley Romero will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering love, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the rich tapestry of a life well-lived. May the memories of his laughter, the aroma of his gumbo, and the echo of his cheers during football games comfort us in the days ahead.
