Youngsville – A celebration of Life for Paul Gilbert Romero, 76, will be held on his birthday, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11:30AM at David Funeral Home of Lafayette. His remains will be placed with his father, Ophie Romero at Saint Anne Cemetery of Youngsville.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:00AM until 11:30AM at David Funeral Home of Lafayette.

Paul was born on July 25, 1943 in Youngsville, Louisiana to Ophie and Leonie Romero and passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 peacefully in his home surrounded by family.  After 42 years of hard work and retiring from GE Oil & Gas, he enjoyed being outside and spending time with family. His favorite pass times were cutting grass, fishing and occasional trips to the casino.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 34 years, Regina “Suzi” Romero; his beloved children, Troy Romero and wife Erica of Covington; Timothy Romero of Lafayette; Christian Mullins and husband Joshua of New Iberia; and Corey Romero and wife Mikelyn of New Iberia; his precious grandchildren, Hunter, Sofia, Andi, Riley, Carter, Piper, Lilah, Camdyn, and Brooks; and great-grandchild, Laura; as well as many close friends and loved ones.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Ophie Romero and Leonie Broussard Romero Vicknair; brothers, Frank “Bee” Romero of Baton Rouge, Raoul “T-Shu” Romero of Houma, and Liefy “NuNu” Romero of Lafayette.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. James Falterman and staff, Dr. Kris Lindsay and Lisa Freyou NP of CIS, Dr. Oscar Alvarez and Acadian Hospice and Home Health.
