New Iberia– Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ann Dugas Landry, 86, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2:00PM at the David Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia with Father Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the service. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30AM.
A native and resident of New Iberia, “Pat” as she was affectionately known passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Consolata Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. “Pat” was an exceptional seamstress with over 40 years of experience. Her skill and passion for sewing were evident in every stitch she made. She was a vibrant participant in Mardi Gras, engaging in various Mardi Gras Krewes and enjoying the festivities with gusto. Her love for dance was infectious, lighting up the dance floor wherever she went.
Patricia had a zest for life and a love for travel, having explored all the continental United States, Canada, Alaska, and even ventured to Europe. She was a culinary artist, mastering the art of cooking and delighting in preparing meals for her family, friends, and large gatherings. Additionally, she was a self-taught painter, gardener, and woodworker, showcasing her creative talents in various mediums. Patricia's compassionate spirit shone through in her work as a Red Cross Volunteer, traveling across the United States to aid in disaster relief efforts for many years. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, LaDonna L. O’Brien of New Iberia, Pamela L. Breaux of New Iberia, Patrick S. Landry of New Iberia; daughters-in-law, Mary Landry of New Iberia, Monique Landry of New Iberia; son-in-law, Steven Breaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Cobie Romero of New Iberia, Braid’ee O’Brien of New Iberia, Jessica Fonseca of Orlando, FL, Richard Landry of New Iberia, Rebecca Manns of Lake Charles, Elizabeth Landry of Corpus Christi, TX, Christie Viator of New Iberia, Mark Viator III of Houston, TX, Dustin Viator of New Iberia, Gabriel Landry of New Iberia, Katelyn Landry of New Iberia, Jackson Landry of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Emily O’Brien, Kaleb O’Brien, Kira Romero Faul, Kylan O’Brien, Maeve Manns, Leland Manns, Madilyn “Madi” Ray, Christian Mixon, Elijah Mixon, Kash Viator, Ridge Harden, Emma Landry, Bella Domingue, Owen Domingue, Olivia Domingue, Ava Dore; and great great grandsons, Braxton George O’Brien and Mark Viator IV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Joseph Landry Sr.; sons, Ernest Landry Jr., Thomas Landry, Troy Landry; parents, Maurice and Bernadette Langla Dugas; sister, Ruth Dugas Judice; and infant brother, Richard Dugas.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Cobie Romero, Kylan O’Brien, Richard Landry, Dustin Viator, Mark Viator III, Gabriel Landry, Jackson Landry, and Patrick Landry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Omar Rodriguez, Kaleb O’Brien, and Misael George.
The family would like to thank Azalea Estates Assisted Living and Consolata Nursing Home for all of their care and compassion.
