Patricia Caffey Brupbacher

Lafayette ~ A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Patricia Caffey Brupbacher, 84, will be held at 12:00PM, on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Kyle White officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Mausoleum. Visitation will be at 4:00PM until 8:00PM, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM, by Voorhies Short, and reopen at 10:00AM, on Monday, December 16, 2024, until the time of services.

A native of Galveston, TX and lifelong resident of Broussard, Mrs. Patricia Caffey Brupbacher was born on September 16, 1940, and passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Patricia worked for Probation and Parole for a number of years before retiring in 1995 to care for her late husband, whom she dearly loved. She played basketball in her younger years and watching team sports, especially those where her kids, grandkids, and nephews played. She was always their biggest cheerleader. As a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was proud to serve as Eucharistic Minister.

During the last seven years, Patricia lived at Camelot of Broussard where she made many wonderful friendships and enjoyed her time playing bingo and doing puzzles. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her friends and family. Mrs. Patricia Caffey Brupbacher is survived by her son, Mark Brupbacher and wife Wyvonne of Broussard; three daughters, Paulette Moore and husband Mark of Crowley, Monica Belgum and husband Brook of Santa Paula, CA, and Kelley Synnott and husband Brendan Synnott of Vail, Colorado; her late husband’s children, Ross Brupbacher and wife Barbara, Scott Brupbacher and wife Betty, and Daryl Johnson; nine grandchildren, Leigh Ann Robichaux, Scott Moore, Robert Smith, Elan Belgum, Crosby Synnott, Nixon Synnott, Kasey Belgum, Mazzy Synnott, and Desmond Synnott; nine grandchildren from her late husband, Ashley, Allisa, Ross, Elizabeth, Patrick, Phillip, Emily, Jamie, and Steven; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Brupbacher; her parents, William, and Beulah Caffey; one brother, Bobby Caffey; one sister, Shirley Malagarie; one brother-in-law, Charles Malagarie; and her granddaughter, Christianne.

Pallbearers will be Mark Moore, Scott Moore, Justin Robichaux, Patrick Brupbacher, Brendan Synnott, and Brook Belgum. Mark Brupbacher will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
