Ovide J. Lancon, Jr.

New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for Ovide J. Lancon, Jr, age 100, at David Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2022, with Fr. Keith Landry officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at David Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM.

Mr. Lancon was a lifelong resident of Iberia Parish. He was a World War II veteran, a former Iberia Parish Council Member, and a career welder.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.  He was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his children.

He is survived by his two daughters, Mona Moss and Connie Carter; one son, Lynn Lancon (Katie); one sister, Hazel Mora; one brother, Roy Lancon; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Moncla Lancon; his parents, Ovide J. Sr. and Laticia Theriot Lancon, and two daughters, Dianna Gaye O’Brian, and Linda DeSoto.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Michael Bourque, David Bourque, Douglas O’Brien, Michael O’Brien, Steven Lancon, and Gavin Lancon.
