Lafayette – A Mass of Christian burial for Noelie Alleman Prejean, 92, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Fr Russo officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8:30AM until the time of service at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.
Noelie was a devout catholic and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a retired dairy farmer who loved cooking and baking cakes. Despite not having a formal education, she was self-taught with many talents. She was a strong-willed woman and an inspiration to many. She was an extremely talented seamstress having sewed for the church and her family as well as making her own clothing. She picked up the hobby of painting in her 80’s, and like everything else she put her mind to, she excelled with no previous instruction. She lived a life of sacrifice and was a proud member of the Ladies Alter Society, VFW Auxiliary, Bonne Mort Society and Living Rosary Society. Noelie lived an exceptionally good life. She was loved by all who knew her and all she knew.
She is survived by two daughters, Mona Menard and her husband Lovelace “Chuck” of Youngsville, and Dana Devillier and her husband Derrick of Youngsville; a son, Johnnie “Fils” Prejean ll and his wife Dawn of Youngsville; nine grandchildren, Nicole Fournet and her husband George, Noel Kennedy and her husband Robert, Neil Menard, Brett Adams and his wife Kisha, Ashley Prejean, Johnnie Fils Prejean lll, Denise Devillier, Danielle Devillier, and Katie Bult; eight great-grandchildren, Jazzlyn Paige Menard, Roy Kennedy, Nicholas Kennedy, Breana Adams, Autumn Adams, Layla Adams, Brexter Adams, and Emma Lou Prejean; a sister, Mary Jane Potier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Johnnie Prejean; her parents, Lester and Felecie Alleman; a great-grandson, Hunter Adams; a brother, Roy Alleman and his wife Adeline “Sis” Alleman; a sister, Elvie Boudreaux and her husband Roosevelt; a brother-in-law, Joseph Potier; and a god child, Steve Larcade.
Serving as pall bearers will be George Fournet, Johnnie Prejean, lll, Derrick Devillier, Brett Adams, Robert Kennedy, and Neil Menard.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Lovelace “Chuck” Menard, David Potier, Dr. Mehmood Patel, Roy Kennedy, Nicholas Kennedy, and Brexter Adams.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Jordann Dickinson, her special friend, Wanda Roland that carried them to the end, the staff at Heart of Hospice and the saintly nurses, Anastasia, Treashure and her angel, Cindy.
