Neola Monceaux Chatman

Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Neola Monceaux Chatman, 93, will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00AM with Fr. Michael Delcambre officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 8:30AM until time of services. Recitation of the rosary will be at 9:30AM.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Broussard, Mrs. Neola went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She worked for the United States Postal Service for over 29 years. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her generous spirit and the many delicious things she cooked for others.

She is survived by her son, Cecil Chatman, Jr. of Broussard; her granddaughter, Claire Chatman Carluen and her husband Elvin of Broussard; her great-grandchildren, Harrison Becnel of Covington, and Darin and Becca Carluen of Broussard; and numerous of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Chatman, Sr.; her parents, Jules Monceaux and Edith Bendeaux; her brother, Jacob Monceaux; her sisters, Iola Broussard, Donatile Lopez, Enolaq LeJeune, Agnes Golden, Mary Lou Doucet, and Viola Holland; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Broussard Chatman; and her grandson, John Chatman.
