New Iberia – Memorial Services for Myra Ann Prince, 78, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Patoutville Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00AM until the time of service at Frioux-David Funeral Home in New Iberia with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.

Myra passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Her heart was filled with immense love for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her days were often spent surrounded by family, offering unwavering support and affection to all who were lucky enough to know her. She was a homebody who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, from reading Harlequin romance novels to enjoying her favorite game shows. Whether she was completing puzzles or word searches, Myra's love for quiet, fulfilling activities brought warmth and comfort to her home.

Cooking was one of Myra’s greatest passions, and she spent many Sundays preparing delicious meals for her family, always making sure no one left the table hungry. Her culinary specialty, however, was her famous carrot cake, a recipe that was loved by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. Every year, without fail, Myra would bake a special carrot cake for the hunters before they departed for their annual hunting trip—a tradition that will be dearly missed.

Myra’s presence will be felt forever, and her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Janna P. Broussard and her husband Reggie, and Jessica A. Prince; four grandchildren, Trevor Broussard and his wife Claire, Trenton Broussard, Shalyn Rabeaux, and Makenzie Broussard and her fiance’ Jeremiah; and three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Broussard, Kaizer Small, and Javin Small.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Prince; her parents, Herbert J. and Linda Boudreaux Hebert.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at River Oaks Retirement Manor and Hospice of Acadiana for their excellent care and support.

Frioux-David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, LA, 337-369-6336, will be handling the arrangements.
