Meardy Guilbeaux

A Mass of Christian Burial for Meardy Josephine Guilbeaux,88, will be 9:00AM Tuesday April 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Andre Metrejean officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Meardy "Taunt Nen" as she was affectionately known by family & friends, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was a very loving & caring woman.  She was always caring for family & friends who were ill, no matter what was involved."Toot-A-Lou" is how she will be remembered by myself.   She always began or ended our conversations with I Love You Toot-A-Lou ! (Lorie Sue Romero)

She always cared for children by either babysitting or simply a child passing through her yard. Her 1st question was are you hungry?  Well most of the time she would nick name that child whatever she fed them i.e.  Peanut Butter or Gumbo or she would cut a name short ...  Taylor ended up TA-TA !  and the list of names goes on & on. She had a great love of children especially since she had none of her own.

You could often find her sitting on her front porch carrying on a conversation with anyone passing in front.

She will be greatly missed by all whomever she greeted with a big smile, loud laugh & twinkling blue eyes.  She was a firecracker to say the least.   She was will be missed by all her friends at the Council of Aging playing bingo & pokeno and also the Casino crew especially Ms. Mary "Lee Lee" Towles who took extremely great care of Meardy.

She is survived by one brother and one sister in law, numerous nieces & nephews.  Also her God Children Shirley Ann Bonsall, Shannon Hebert, Codarryl Allen, Therlyn Hebert, Brittany Hebert & Gregory Shelvin.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ceasar Guilbeaux & Lilly Anna "Annie" Richard, 3 sisters Eula, Maude & Adley; 4 brothers Weston, Leroy & Lloyd,& an infant brother Nicholas.
