Martha Ann Farris Arrington

DeBerry,TX – A Life Celebration Service for Martha Ann Farris Arrington, 77, will be held 12:00PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at King’s Temple Church of Shreveport with Pastor Damon Magee, Rev. Micheal Hook, and Rev. Ron Wofford officiating.

Visitation will be held at King’s Temple Church of Shreveport on Saturday, March 8, 2025 beginning at 11:00AM until 12:00PM.  Interment will follow at Deadwood Cemetery in Deadwood, TX.

Martha went home to her heavenly reward on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 8:15AM in the arms of her husband of 54 years and holding the hands of her family.  She has fought a good fight, she has finished her course and moved into her mansion in heaven.

No matter the role Martha played in your life, co-worker, friend, mentor, Ms. Momma, Nana, Mom or beloved wife, to know her was to love her.  She was one of the sweetest women you could ever meet. A true Christian and a southern lady. She enjoyed reading, doing for others, supporting her church and church family and being with her family.  She retired from General Electric after 30 years of service in 2010; but being the doer that she was not long after retiring she went to work at Ivan Smith furniture where she has worked for almost 15 years.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Ed Arrington of DeBerry, TX; her daughter, D’Lisa Frioux and her husband Sammy of Jeanerette, LA; a granddaughter, Alyssa Marianne Frioux and a host of other family both by blood and of the heart who she unofficially adopted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, TJ and Aline Long Farris; a brother, David Farris.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Fuller, Ryan Bourque, Jonathan Christman, Tyler Jeffus, Eric Darden, Randy Woods, Greg Clark, and Vinnie Catapano.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Josh Arrington, Jason Arrington, David Cox, Robert Tuminello and James McGill

Special thanks to her church family at Kings Temple Church for all of their love and support; and the staff of HeartsWay Hospice for their support and care during the final days of her journey.

Also, special thanks to Ivan Smith Furniture and her co-workers for all their love, support and generosity during her time with the company and the duration of her difficult final challenge.

Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home of Carthage, TX and Frioux-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, LA will be handling the arrangements.
