Marie Guidry Vallot

Broussard- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marie Guidry Vallot, 83, will be held at 1:00PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Casey Dugas officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Marie, a resident of Broussard, was the daughter of the late Theobalde Guidry and Alice Courville Guidry. Marie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Before dementia altered her state of being, she loved to be outside cutting her grass, spending time with her family, a good penny machine at the casino or exercising. She loved to cook and make her special homemade biscuits with a good cup of coffee. She loved hard, especially her husband, who she was so proud of. They were known to everyone as “that couple”. She loved spoiling her family dog, Gerry, who held a special place in her heart. She also never passed up a good shoe sale or forgot to tell the ones she loved “I love you big as the world and back” Oh how that saying will stay with us forever.

She is survived by her loving husband, a month shy of 67 years, Louis Russell Vallot; her son; Patrick Vallot and his wife Cheryl; her daughter; Pansy Frederick and her husband Dwight, her daughter; Christine Grossie and her husband Kevin; Her grandchildren; Brandon Vallot, Danielle Marceaux (Haley), Ashley Guidry (Sim) and Heather Frederick; Her great-grandchildren; Jayda Lewis, Kennedi ,and Blythe Guidry; and her sister Diane Romero.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Theobalde & Alice Guidry, sisters; Agnes Drouet, Bunice Romero, Bernice Dooley, Barbara Romero and her brother, Clarence Guidry, as well as her in laws; Lucien and Evee’ Vallot.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at David’s Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 8:00AM until the time of services.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Vallot, Dwight Frederick, Kevin Grossie, Brandon Vallot, Sim Guidry, and Lucien (LJ) Vallot. Honorary pallbearers will be Danielle Marceaux, Ashley Guidry, Heather Frederick, and Debbie Hebert.

Gift bearers will be Kennedi and Blythe Guidry. Readers at the mass will be Jayda Lewis and Cheryl Vallot.
