Maria Bourque Baudoin

June 21, 1928 — February 6, 2024

Lafayette – Funeral services for Maria Bourque Baudoin,95, will be held Friday, February 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Father Paul Broussard officiating.

Vitiation will be Friday, February 9, 2024, from 9:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM.

A native and lifelong resident of Youngsville, Maria was also a lifelong member of St. Anne Catholic Church and had a deep devotion to Mother Mary and the Rosary, especially in French.  This gave her much peace in her life.  She was truly excited to get bulletins in the mail over the last few years and felt like a member of the parish without being able to be with them.  She was very excited about the new church building being built and kept up to date on all the progress being made! Maria was a graduate of the Youngsville High School class of 1946, and she retired from South Central Bell with 36 years of service. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include two nieces; Karen and her husband James Broussard and Jenny Albarado. She is also survived by fifteen great nieces and nephews; thirty-six great-great nieces and nephews; and three great-great-great nieces and nephews with each and every one of them loved deeply by “Tante” Maria. She is also survived by many individuals who were like family to her and she to them over her 95 years of life.  She had a huge heart, great sense of humor and everyone felt loved by her because they were!

She was Godmother to Grace, Burley Jr., Karen, Suzette, Sandra, BoBo (Brunella) Pam and Carol.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband Noah Baudoin; her parents Joseph and Noemie Baudoin Bourque; her brother Joe “Fere” Bourque; her sister Mrs. Burley Leocadie Bourque Broussard, nephews Burley Broussard Jr., Robert Broussard, Darrel James Bourque; nieces Dianne Broussard, Tammy McDonald, Donna St. Amant.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Courtyard Assisted Living as well as Eastridge Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Maria. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to her loving caretakers, Kathy, Linda, Yonna, and Katie who walked as her companions for several months during her prolonged illness. She was deeply loved by them all.
