Lydia Romero Luquette

Abbeville – Funeral Services for Mrs. Lydia Romero Luquette, 92, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at David funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Francis Plaisance officiating.  Interment will be at Landry Cemetery in Henry.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 8:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Milton,La and a resident of Branch, La, Mrs. Luquette died at 6:30AM on Saturday January 22, 2022 at Opelousas General Hospital.  Her daughter n law Gayle Bouget was her caretaker until she went to nursing home, she was an active member of The Church of Christ and was known for her sewing and caring for others.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Bouget and wife Gayle Bertrand Bouget of Branch, LA and Larry Bouget and wife Sissy Bouget of Dunlop, TN; two brothers, Delfred and Loraine Romero and Percy and Janette Romero; daughter n law Paula Bouget, fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Luquette; her parents, Simonet and Clemence Otemond Romero; a son, Donald Bouget; and two brothers, Adam Romero and Early Romero, and two sister Nolia Miguiz and Simonia Gayneaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Bouget, Peyton Walker, Reed Romero, Chad Romero, Wyatt Lee Johnson, Delford Chad Romero, and Mike Desormeaux.
