Louise Marie Becnel Gee

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Louise Marie Becnel Gee, 75, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with

Father Alexander Albert officiating. Readings for the funeral mass will be read by Jennifer Doucet and Ashley Branch and Alyse Doucet and Madeline Doucet will be gift bearers. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 8:00 AM until 12:45 PM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 PM.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Gee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 1:14 PM at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was a retired Legal Secretary having worked for law firms in New Iberia. She and her husband enjoyed Cajun Dancing and were members of the Cajun French Music Association. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Spencer F. Gee of Jeanerette; daughters, Denise Gee Verret and her husband David of New Iberia, Angelle Gee of Lafayette and Jeannine Gee Branch and her husband Martin of Carencro; son, Stephan P. Gee of Belleville, IL; sister, Elaine Ransome Dupuy of Luling; brother, Elmore J. Becnel, Jr. and his wife Paige of Larkspur, CO; grandchildren, Jarred Verret, Jennifer Doucet, Alyse Doucet, Madeline Doucet, Ashley Branch and Christian Gee and great grandchildren, Garrett Folse, Carson Folse, Mallorie Smith, Trentin Smith and Iylah Bourque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmore J. Becnel, Sr. and Virginia “Vergie” Hymel Becnel; father-in-law, Warren Gee and mother-in-law, Vernie Gee.

Pallbearers will be Stephan Gee, Christian Gee, Jarred Verret, David Verret, Martin Branch and Gerard Eldridge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Owens, Sr. and Earl Becnel.

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice and Lashanda and Christiana with Grace Hospice.

Family would prefer memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
