Leesa Billodeau Falterman

New Iberia- Leesa Billodeau Falterman died at her home in New Iberia, Louisiana, on October 4, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born August 30, 1956, to Dewey David Billodeau, Sr. and Josephine Bacala Billodeau. Her family will observe a celebration of her life on November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Church in Broussard, Louisiana.

Leesa leaves behind for her family and for all who had the fortune of having her in their lives a rich legacy of fierce commitment to any cause she undertook and unwavering dedication to family and friends. Through her thirty years of service in the school system, she devoted her life to advocating for students and families in Iberia Parish. She touched lives in countless ways.

She was preceded in death by her precious son Nicholas and her father Dewey. She is survived by her son James, whom she loved unconditionally, and his wife Kim. She also has two daughters, Kathryn and Corinne. In addition, Leesa is survived by her mother Josie and three siblings: Laurie (Simon Gonsoulin) of Baton Rouge, David (Lisa Roy) of Lake Charles, and Lynn (Karl Viator) of Lafayette. She also leaves an irreplaceable mark on her numerous nieces and nephews: Katie Gonsoulin Pelliccio (Adam), Sam Viator (Lisa), Heidi Billodeau, Ben Gonsoulin (Emily), Michelle Billodeau (Nick Reynolds), Adam Viator (Janee), Maria Viator Wirtz (Christopher), and Lt. Roy Billodeau.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Leesa Falterman Memorial Scholarship established to support students in Iberia Parish. Contributions can be made in the form of a check made out to Iberia Parish School Board (1500 Jane St, New Iberia, LA 70560) with “Leesa Falterman Memorial Scholarship” noted as the memo.
