Lastie J. Segura

New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for Lastie J. Segura, age 89, on Friday, April 1, 2022, at David Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with Father Matthew Hebert officiating. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

The visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Lastie J. Segura, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 11:10 a.m.

Lastie worked for many years and retired with the Iberia Parish Government. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.

He loved his work, and truly enjoyed hard work. He owned a small farm where he raised cattle and grew all the vegetables that he shared with his family.

Many spoke of Lastie sitting outside his home on sunny days waving at the passersby greeting each passerby.

Mr. Lastie J. Segura is survived by his children, Darrel Segura, Melissa Segura, Jesse Segura; brothers, Dennis Segura, Reynold Segura, Joseph Segura; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Lastie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Segura; parents, Harrison and Julia Comeaux Segura; a son, Elton Paul Segura; siblings, five sisters, and two brothers.
