New Iberia–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for June Darby Armentor, age 84, on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Francis Miller, OFM with Andrew Miller, and Jacob Miller as altar servers. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resuming on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.

June Darby Armentor, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion. Born to Bernard and Juenne “Eunice” Dartez Darby on May 3, 1940, in New Iberia, June was cherished as a wonderful mother who found joy in cooking for her family. Her artistic talents knew no bounds; she excelled in painting, crafting jewelry and rosaries, and even delved into videography and photography with remarkable skill. June's passion for education led her to pioneer the homeschooling movement in Louisiana, where she educated several of her children, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

A devout Catholic, June was a founding member of Christ the King Catholic Church and dedicated much of her life to sharing the teachings of Christ as a religious educator. For over 40 years, she lovingly played a pivotal role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting wisdom, love, and support. June will be remembered for her unwavering faith, boundless creativity, and profound impact on her family and community alike. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

June is survived by her husband of 64 years Donald Armentor Sr.; 6 children, Donald Armentor, Jr., Katy Larson and husband David, Robin Armentor, Deborah Miller and husband Normand, Stephen Armentor, Jude Armentor and wife Brandi; grandchildren, David, Krista, Alexa, Erica, Justin, Lauren, Brandon, Jett, Andrew, Jeanne, Jessica, Aimee, Jacob, Joanna, Audrey, Jack, Lillian, Laine, Madalyn, Olivia; great grandchildren, Alex, Elijah, Griffin, Ian, Kali, Caroline, Juliet, Cecilia, William, Grayson, Louis, Levi, Leah, Rex, Elizabeth, Eloise, Meredith, Addison, Colten, and great great-grandchild, Addelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard, and Juenne “Eunice” Dartez Darby, and 5 siblings, Floyd Darby, Terrell Darby, Richard Darby, Diane D. Fruge, and Judy D. Menard.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are David Larson II, Alex Larson, Elijah Larson, Justin Armentor, Brandon Armentor, Jett Armentor, Laine Armentor and Jack Miller.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for all the support and care they shared with their mother and the family during this difficult time.
