Mrs. Judy Picard Cranche, a native of Franklin and longtime resident of Jeanerette, later settling in New Iberia, suddenly passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:06AM. Judy was known for her straightforwardness, independent spirit, and caring nature. Judy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished every moment spent with Chris, the love of her life, her 2 sons and grandchildren. She was the heart of her family and enjoyed nothing more than having everyone close by. Judy was a devoted Maw Maw, finding joy and fulfillment in spending time with her grandkids, who were her greatest hobby. As her grandkids’ number 1 supporter, “MawMaw JuJu” loved sleepovers and attending all their events, and she took pride in watching them grow in every area of their lives.
Judy’s warm heart and generosity were felt by all who knew her. She ensured that no one ever went without a good time and a delicious meal. A lover of adventure, she enjoyed camping, beach trips, and being on the water, whether crabbing, shrimping, fishing, or simply relaxing. Judy shared many happy hours playing cards and pokeno with her close-knit group of friends, including Faye, Linda, Phyllis, Sherri, Darlene, Trudy, Brenda, and Lisa. Her vibrant energy and love of dancing even landed her in the local newspaper a few times. Judy's legacy lives on through the countless memories she created, her loving family, and the joy she spread to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
