Jeanerette- Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Cearley, 87, will be held at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00PM with her son, Michael Cearley officiating. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00AM until time of services.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Joyce passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She had a love for nature and enjoyed watching and feeding birds and squirrels, gardening, fishing, and camping with her friends. She was a great cook and loved hosting and baking for all her family and friends for the holidays. Above all, she loved her family. Every opportunity she got, she would visit her family members in Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son, Michael Cearley of Jeanerette; her daughters, Karen Ruiz of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and Melinda Viator and her husband David of Jeanerette; her grandchildren, Jonathan Viator and his wife Shawna, Anthony Ruiz and his wife Mollie, Matthew Viator, Sarah Hebert and her husband Dylan, and Alison Viator; her great grandchildren, Khloe, Avery, Adam, and Margot; and her sister, Pauline Hunter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Cearley; her infant son, Malcolm Cearley; her parents, Herman and Bertha Cumpton; and her sisters, Jo Hanna, Helen James, and Billie Ferguson.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to her long-term care givers: Tessa Feast and Matthew Viator, Dr. Timothy Viator and staff, Acadiana Homecare, and Hospice of Acadiana.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Viator, Michael Cearley, Jonathan Viator, Matthew Viator, Anthony Ruiz, and Dylan Hebert.
