Lafayette - In honor of Joseph Phillip Delphin III, funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12 p.m. at David's Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until the time of service.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Phillip Delphin III, a cherished father, son, brother, parrain, and friend. Born on January 5, 1983, Joe's journey began in the heart of Lafayette, where he embraced life with a spirit as boundless as the ocean he so dearly loved.

Joe's passion for exploration led him to become a certified offshore commercial deep-sea diver through the esteemed Ocean Corporation in Houston, Texas. His adventurous spirit knew no bounds, and following his retirement, he embarked on new endeavors, including working in Sinker Cypress Recovery. But Joe was more than just his professional accomplishments; he was a man of many talents, a true jack of all trades. From working with engines and brakes as a mechanic to mastering the skies with extensive pilot training, Joe's curiosity and skill knew no limits.

Yet, it was his love for the water that truly defined him. Whether navigating his boats or casting lines for the perfect catch, Joe found solace and joy in the water. His passion for fishing, especially bow fishing, brightened his days, while his love for the outdoors transformed him into an avid hunter, forever searching for the still of nature.

But among his adventures, Joe remained grounded in simplicity. He cherished his jacked-up trucks, reveling in the thrill of off-road mudding and enjoying life's simplest pleasures. And in Jennifer, his sweetheart, Joe found a companion whose presence brought joy and warmth to his life.

Joe's legacy extends far beyond his accomplishments; it lives on in the hearts of those he touched. He leaves behind a son, Carter Delphin, whom he loved deeply. Joe is survived by his father, Joseph P. Delphin Jr.; four siblings, Damien Bradley (Sheila Bradley), Jennifer Delphin, Jessica Delphin, and Jamie Guidry (James Guidry); and five nephews and nieces, Conner Tullis, Cole Guidry, Eli Guidry, Addison Guidry, and London Trahan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanna Delphin, maternal grandmother, Lola M. Breaux, paternal grandmother, Isabel Delphin Arceneaux, and paternal grandfather, Joseph P. Delphin.

His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

As we gather to celebrate Joe's remarkable life, may we find solace in the memories we shared and the love that will forever bind us together. Rest peacefully, Joe; your spirit will live on in the gentle whispers of the wind and the endless stretch of the sea.
