John Carl Trahan

Lafayette – Funeral Services will be held for Mr. John Carl Trahan, 66, at 1:00PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Catholic Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume Friday, January 27, 2023 at 8:00AM until the time of Service.

John worked in construction most of his life.  He had such a deep love for working even when he did not have to, so much so he would walk around the house fixing things, even if it wasn’t broken yet.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  John loved to be outside more than anything.  If you ever passed by his residence, you would most likely see him and his wife, Barbara, sitting out in the front watching the cars and birds go by.  He was a man who was admired by many for his selfless acts and his witty humor.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Trahan of Maurice; his parents, John Clifford and Bernice Simon Trahan; three daughters, Heather Simon and her husband Jacob of Youngsville, Shantel Broussard and her husband Beau of Maurice, and Kasie Trahan of Maurice; his grandchildren, Brennan Broussard, Cutter Broussard, Libbie Broussard, Kaylie Trahan, Riley Simon and Raynee Simon; one sister, Glenda “Sis” Bourque and her husband Rickey; and two brothers, Glyn “T-Boy” Trahan and his wife Diana, and Darrel Trahan and his wife Kathy. He was preceded in death by his Mother in Law, LouElla Racca.

Serving as pallbearers will be Beau Broussard, Jacob Simon, Cutter Broussard, Brennan Broussard, Lester Faul and Byron Dartez.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Chris Dartez, Clarence Broussard and Carroll Racca.
