Johnny Love Norris Iii

January 21, 1949 — October 27, 2023

New Iberia--Johnny Love Norris III, of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on October 27, 2023, at the age of 74. Born on January 21, 1949, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, he was the beloved son of the late John "Goat" Love Norris, Jr. and Elzie Ashley Norris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harry Norris.

Raised on a farm in North West Tennessee, Johnny later found his calling in the heart of Cajun country, dedicating 30+ years of his life to the oilfield service industry. He concluded his distinguished career as an independent consultant. His legacy, however, lies not just in his professional accolades but also in the values he instilled in those around him. His hard work, dedication, and love for his family were evident in every aspect of his life.

A devoted husband, he is survived by his loving wife, Frances Ronsonet Norris. Johnny was a proud father to two sons, John Love Norris IV and Luke Charles Norris, both of whom he took immense pride in, not only for their professional achievements as lawyers but also for their active roles within their church communities. He was also a cherished father-in-law to Amanda and Meaghan Norris.

The light of his life was his grandchildren, John "Finn" Love Norris V and Jude "Juju" Marguerite Norris. Whenever Johnny needed a smile, he would look at a picture of "Juju", who inherited his striking blue eyes. He also leaves behind his niece, Melinda “Mindy” Norris, and a host of family, friends, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

Johnny could light up a room with his presence. His voice, his laughter, and his smile electrified everyone he came in contact with. Johnny had a giving heart and loved to cook for a crowd. Anyone who got a chance to eat his BBQ knew he was from 100 miles north of Memphis. And, anyone who got a chance to eat his chicken and sausage jambalaya knew he had made a new home down on Bayou Teche; and learned how to take orders from a brown eye Cajun girl. Johnny was Rocky Top through and through, however, he always joked that sending two sons off to LSU made him financially a Tiger.

Johnny's influence will forever be felt in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether sharing wisdom from his years in the oilfield or simply enjoying moments with his grandchildren, his love, kindness, and unwavering spirit will always be remembered.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Richard Denison, Jacob Denison, Zachary Breaux, Dustin Suire, Luke Norris, and John L. Norris IV. Honorary PBs- Ashley “Bubba” Norris, Jordan Beuhler and Ian Beuhler.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of choice.

May he rest in peace and be forever in our hearts.
