John Scott Baker

John Scott Baker, 40, of Broussard, Louisiana, passed away on December 22, 2022. John was born on March 11, 1982, in Lafayette Louisiana. He was a 2001 graduate of Allen Academy in Bryan, Texas, where he excelled at baseball and football. His career was primarily spent in the oil field. John will be remembered for his smile and his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Larry and Virginia Baker Sr. and maternal grandfathers Ira Medlin and John McAfee.

He is survived by his father, Russell Baker and wife Jan of Broussard, Louisiana; mother, Jo Lynn Carney and husband Mike of Lewisville, Texas; grandmother, Janice McAfee, of Lewisville, Texas; brother, Rusty Baker and wife Brittany of Tomball, Texas; sister, Amy Brown and husband Blair of Gainesville, Texas; uncle and aunt Larry and Sandra Baker Jr. of Portland, Texas; two nephews; and several cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 28 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the home of Russell and Jan Baker, 106 Greenhill Circle, Broussard, Louisiana.
